I've only played NMS on my Xbox S but have played a wide range of games on my switch including witcher 3. I actually was shocked at how well witcher played on the switch (recognizing graphics and render distance are crap comparatively). No, as far as settlements. I think the only feature that Sean Murray (the game maker) said they might add in some day if it was desired enough was Multiplayer. The lack of the other features (Settlements and Capes) are due to how underpowered the switch is. The Switch is at least 20 percent LESS powerful than ye olde Xbox One and PS4.
